Latest Facebook Marketing Update: Power Editor and Ads Manager to be Merged!

Latest Facebook Marketing Update: Power Editor and Ads Manager to be Merged!
Sep. 18,
2017

Power Editor and Ads Manager started as two very different tools back in the day. Power Editor is a Facebook advertising tool designed for larger advertisers who want to create, edit and publish multiple ads at once and have the paths of these tools started. Here they are:

  1. If you’ve been a Power Editor user, its interface (without the guided tour) will be the default experience. However, you can still opt for the Guided Creation process which is currently visible in Ads Manager. Facebook has provided the option for the Power users and the newbie marketers, both. Users who have experience in either interface can continue using the new tool, the way they wish. No need to worry or learn a new interface.
  2. Facebook will be providing you the option to Save your Ad creation process as a draft. This option was lacking in the current Guided Creation process. If you leave your Campaign Creation screen and return from + Create Campaign, you currently redirect to the step that you were on.
  3. Reviewing Changes – Want to change anything on your campaigns, ad sets or ads? Want to delete an ad? Well, the process just got a little longer and well…a little frustrating in my own experience. All your changes will be in Draft and you must “Review Draft Items”. The Review Draft Items window shows all changes you’re making to your ads. Any changes you make to your ads are highlighted as NEW (for ads you create), UPDATED (for ads you edit) or DELETED (for ads you delete) in the window. Read More here.
  4. Unified Reporting – It was frustrating to see different numbers in the Ads Manager reports and the Power Editor stats. No more confusion now. The unified Ads Manager will hold all the reports. This is where you’ll get charts, activity history, breakdowns, summary rows, date benchmarks, exported insights reports and more.

When I look at active Facebook Marketing Communities such as Jon Loomer’s, most of the advertisers and marketers are seemingly very happy with the announcement. It offers convenience for the expert marketers and offers guided creation for the newbie marketer. Facebook deserves the credit for this great decision.
